From the press release:

Quite a few of us use multiple credit cards and every time one card expires, its plastic adds to the trash. So do the numerous receipts that we accumulate after swiping our CC. The fundamental of the One Card Electronic Card is quite simple; it wants to eliminate the trash (and resolve issues like identity theft via discarded expired CCs) by proposing to be this all-credit-cards-in-one device. On one end of the gadget is a Memory Card Slot that will help the user upload their various CC Details.

Deftly christened “Ella”, this acrylic umbrellas stand features a green patch of grass at the bottom. The drizzle of drops from your wet umbrella trickle down to water the grass, thus adding a green-quotient to the design. Constructed from three injection molded plastic parts, each screwing into each other at the base point to give a low center of gravity and to allow ease of cleaning when separated. Neat idea; but my only question: what happens to the grass during a dry spell?

Every month we take a look around and select some of the most interesting designs that was showcased here. Below you’ll find the most popular designs we’ve tracked over the last 30 days - an overview of designs you shouldn’t have missed in May 2009.

In urban settings umbrellas a hazard. No one has enough etiquette to handle an umbrella with people coming at all angles and sizes. They really annoy me.
