Junya Watanabe is famous for his avant-garde style; in particular, his exploration of new cutting concepts, his ingenious sourcing of fabrics and innovative draping techniques.

I was introduced to this website earlier this year and to be honest its never failed to impress me. According to its strap line its made it into Time magazine’s Top 100 Design Influencers list and appears to have the first piece of proper advertising that I’ve seen on a blog.

Nachdem ich gestern fälschlicherweise einen Schal von fabrics interseason für einen von Henrik Viskov (eigentlich müsste ich es besser wissen!) gehalten habe (shame on me!), sah ich mich (selbst) genötigt, der Website des österreichischen Labels einen Besuch abzustatten.

American designer Derek Lam launched his label in 2003 following a successful twelve years at Michael Kors, and he counts hip young stars like Natalie Portman and Rachel Bilson as fans. Lam is known for his pretty, girly fabrics backed by clean, crisp silhouettes. Above my favourite from his s/s 08 collection. The “glitter” jacket with the flesh tone short is superlative.
