Photographer Chen Zhun for FHM China. More visual pleasure inside!
Origami is one of the oldest forms of Japanese design. The Japanese origin began in the 6th century when Buddhist monks from China carried paper to Japan. Maybe they just wanted to annoy the Japanese by paying them in folded money that was nearly impossible to unfold, who knows. The planning and genius use of a single material to create a an intricate silhouette or design is probably one of the most challenging for any designer.

Absolutely bewitched photomontage works of Li Wei, an artist form China, who overcame a gravitation… with Photoshop.
China if you hadn’t noticed has hit a huge economic boom from the last 20 years, and with this summer’s Olympics being hosted there, people are starting to become more and more interested in the country. So PingMag wrote a great article talking about design in China, who’s doing it and where it’s going.
PingMag once again come up with the goods — this time with a feature on New Graphic Design in China. Some utterly fantastic work, highly recommended. I’ve picked my faves below.

Once again we ventured down the rabbit hole of design and stumbled upon this interesting Wonderland inspiration called “Fungus Chair” by China’s Mad Hatters, MAD Design. Architect Ma Yansong, designed this public seating area for MAD as part of a public art project at the Zhangjiang business park in Pudong, Shanghai. By incorporating modern materials and an interlocking design, these mushroom seating solutions offer a twist on public park seating usually only seen by Alice herself, and after all, Ma Yansong is a fun-guy (f?n?ji).
