This two level home accommodates a young mother with her two daughters and their grandmother. In-laws quarters are built in into the house in a way that everybody has their privacy but they are all together at the same time.

Architect Staffan Svenson of Dencity Design recalls his conversation with the owner of this residence:

Larry Goldstone had a simple program. He wanted a view from every room, and he wanted it to be open, with lots of glass. And he wanted it to have a quiet backyard. But he didn’t want a sculptural, stark thing; it needed to be warmer and softer.

Atmo.Sphere is a poster series by graphic designer and artist Sabato Urciuoli. These posters by the Turin-based designer are intended to explore elements of both architecture and physics, and are limited to 100 pieces each. These are some incredible, minimalist designs that evoke memories of the suprematist movement.

swiss-villa-1

This beautiful villa in Luganese, Switzerland was designed by Attilio Panzeri. It’s currently for sale and I don’t know about you but I’m thinking of moving to Switzerland…

I like the openness of the rooms with and without the glass windows. The mountain views are just priceless. Additionally, the pool area seems kind of quiet and resort-like.

p.s. it’s for sale.

I think what I like best about this house, or what instantly attracted me to it is the paint on the siding. The 4300-square-foot home is on a slightly-sloping lot and rejects the traditional public front yard/private backyard. Instead almost the entire home is on display.
